Chesapeake City, MD

aandgleger

Hello from AdventureUS!

Atlantic City was neat to see, but we won’t plan to stop there again! The newer hotel/casino called The Ocean, was nice and would be a cool place for a getaway weekend.

The conditions off the Jersey shore included 4-6 foot swells that we would climb up and sail down. I even got a little sea sick on the way into Atlantic City but the day to Cape May was much better, you can see in the pictures below. We did see many pods of dolphins as well. Glad the big ocean legs of the trip are over!

We left AC on Fri 10/4 and after looking at the wind/weather forecast, we decided against staying in Cape May and pushed on up the Delaware Bay to the C&D Canal. (Chesapeake/Delaware). We pulled up to Schaefer’s Canal House and tied up with assistance of the dock hands. The current was running very fast. Ty and Pam were right behind us on Cats Away. We enjoyed a nice walk and dinner on shore.

The next morning, Ty and Pam decided to keep moving down the coast as they want to be in FL around 11/1.

Gerry and I decided to have a super easy day on Saturday, and went across the canal to a free dock at Chesapeake City. We were settled in by 10 AM. We relaxed and ended up taking a water taxi back over to go to a local festival and then an appetizer at the tiki bar at the Chesapeake Inn. They have the best steak and cheese egg roll. OMG so good.

Remember homecoming! We had ton of kids taking pictures, it was so cute!

Sun 10/6 we took about a two hour trip to Worton’s Creek. We have anchored up the creek and off of the Worton Creek Marina. We are in 5 ft of muddy water with trees all around. It is so pretty and so quiet. We could be here one night or two. Eating on board and ready to put the dinghy in the water and check out the creek!

We are having a great time!

Sorry you got a little sea sick- that doesn’t sound fun! Glad to hear you are now enjoying yourselves for the next couple of days.
