Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2026
Before Christmas, while Gerry and I were in CT, we went to the Mystic Seaport to experience the Lantern Light Tour and had our picture taken with Santa! We were back in Florida on Dec 21 and closed on our new house in Punta Gorda on Monday, December 22! Yes, I said closed on a new house! We had been looking in various parts of Florida, but decided that Punta Gorda Isles had everything we were looking for! An on-the-water location with easy access to the open ocean, close to

Back to Florida, again
After the Thanksgiving weekend craziness, we headed back to Florida on Wednesday, December 3. We flew to Fort Myers and stayed in our condo. On Friday, we attended an owners' meeting for our condo association. I had volunteered to be on the board for about 6 months, but decided it was too hard to commit when I was traveling so much. If you are ever interested in staying in our condo, please let us know. Here is a link to our unit. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/52453505?adults

Thanksgiving
After a few weeks of not knowing where we were going or where we would wake up, we settled back into our Condo in Groton, CT, for two weeks. Well, sort of! I am very fortunate to have a close family that has spent a weekend in New Hampshire every year for the last 15 years! It started when my eight cousins and their kids were young, and we wanted them to experience Santa's Village. We have evolved to all stay in one huge house with 16 bedrooms and sleep 34! We headed north o

Hurricane Melissa
24 hours after leaving Curacao, Hurricane Melissa began to develop in the eastern Caribbean Ocean, right where Gerry, David, Pilli, and Dave Ryan were heading. This was NOT predicted in any of the professional weather routing that was subscribed to or in Gerry and David’s weather research prior to departure. The original intention was to do a one shot run of about 1,400 miles from Curaçao to Palm Beach, going around the East side of the Bahamas. But halfway between Curaçao a

Moving around...
I had to go back to CT to help out my old employer so Gerry and our friend Neil Sharp took off from Norfolk, VA on 10/6 and headed to Belhaven, NC with a great weather window. Along the way, they traveled through the Great Bridge Lock, which Neil thought was pretty cool. They enjoyed a great dinner at https://spoonrivernc.com/. Neil works in the restaurant industry, and the owner remembered Gerry from our trip last fall. She gave them a tour of the back of the restaurant an
