Moving around...

I had to go back to CT to help out my old employer so Gerry and our friend Neil Sharp took off from Norfolk, VA on 10/6 and headed to Belhaven, NC with a great weather window. Along the way, they traveled through the Great Bridge Lock, which Neil thought was pretty cool. They enjoyed a great dinner at https://spoonrivernc.com/. Neil works in the restaurant industry, and the owner remembered Gerry from our trip last fall. She gave them a tour of the back of the restaurant and talked about what was happening in town including their renovating and restoring storefronts in the downtown. She even gave Gerry a bottle of wine to give to me!

The next morning, they were up early with great weather and headed to Beauford, NC. Beaufort, NC is one of our favorite stops with its quaint downtown waterfront. They got to walk the downtown area and check out a few of the local shops.

On Wednesday, they traveled to Southport, NC for a short stopover, staying at the Safe Harbor Marina, and finally went to Myrtle Beach. AdventureUS had caught up with Island Time and Easy Riders in Myrtle Beach. A tropical storm was on the horizon, so they all tucked into https://www.ospreymarina.com/ for a few days. It was forecast to be windy for about 4 days so Neil decided not to stay on the boat in the rain and head back to CT. Amy was able to get away from the office and flew down on Saturday, 10/18, and got back on the boat to help move it south.

Once the weather passed, we left and spent a night on anchor in Church Creek, and all three PDQs rafted together as the weather was super calm. We enjoyed a nice dinner on board and watched the shooting stars.

On Tuesday, we headed to Beauford, SC, for one night. Easy Riders left our pack. We love the architecture and trees in the area, it is quintessential southern charm.

Gerry has a friend who is a boat Captain for large yachts and asked for an assist in moving an 80’ Sunreef sail catamaran from Curaçao to Palm Beach, FL. So, I went back to CT and Gerry headed to Curaçao, leaving the boat at the Hinkley Boat Yard in Savanna, Georgia.

Before we left, we spent a day with Bryan and Lori and took a comedy bus show. https://www.savannahformorons.com/
