Back to Florida, again

After the Thanksgiving weekend craziness, we headed back to Florida on Wednesday, December 3. We flew to Fort Myers and stayed in our condo. On Friday, we attended an owners' meeting for our condo association. I had volunteered to be on the board for about 6 months, but decided it was too hard to commit when I was traveling so much.

Lorna and Frank were in town visiting his mom in Fort Myers, and they booked a separate condo in our complex. During downtime, we had dinner, showed them around the area, and even rented a boat for a day to visit Cabbage Key for lunch and anchor out by Boca Grande for the afternoon. It was great except Frank was sick and slept most of the day.

Gerry and I did something else super exciting..... but I will share in the future!

On Tuesday, December 9, we are driving across Florida to Daytona to get back on the boat. We were there until Sunday, December 14 and then we fly back to CT one final time.

On Wed 12/10 we drove up to St. Augustine and met up with fellow PDQ owners and had another great wine dinner at Carabbas. No special events just fun to drink wine and hang out.

One picture of Sally from the wine dinner, another couple of Lori and I having a Sunday Funday in Daytona and how our boat was decorated for the season!

My replacement, whom I have been covering while she was on maternity leave, has decided to return 2 weeks early. I will go in on Monday, December 15, to transition, and then I am done with this commitment. I am delighted that I volunteered to work and cover her leave. The company has been so good to me for 20-plus years, so I felt I had to give back.

My last official day of work was my boss Ron’s retirement party!

We also spend an evening with Brian and Kayleigh and their girls celebrating Christmas.

Family Christmas with a secret Santa exchange with 44! That takes a long time! Look at all of those kids!

On Wednesday Dec 17, we celebrated Christmas with my Dad, Marsha, Ali, TJ and Jack, Chewy and Megan. Sorry, no pictures.

We flew back to Florida on Sunday, December 21, and staying until we are done with the winter boating season in the Keys and out to the Bahamas!

Next post will be Christmas in Florida and our very exciting news!
