We spent 6 days in Annapolis on the anchor, and it was great! Dingy dock was super close and downtown was an easy 15 minutes away.
A few of the highlights from Annapolis:
The Naval Academy https://www.usna.edu/Visit/index.php and the Chapel!
Dinner with Bob and Annika Rodgers from https://www.rodgersyachtsales.com and our own RIYC! Thank you both for including us for dinner.
Brian and Kayleigh along with birthday girl Caroline!
This t-shirt was for sale in one of the restaurants we had dinner in.
Dinner at https://lunabluofannapolis.com/. Funny about this is we picked Luna Blu randomly off of Open Table because it looked good. When we arrived we realized we had eaten there before. A great meal and great service!
https://latsatts.com/ If you are not familiar with Latitude's and Attitudes Magazine, please check it out. We have been loyal subscriber since it’s inception. They hosted a subscribers party at the boat show and we attended. It was really fun and we met many other cruisers and social influencers.
On Saturday, Gerry went sailing with friends from CT, Eric Erwin and Mary Martin. They purchased this beautiful Sabre 42, after the boat they were sailing sank during this past year’s Newport to Bermuda race. Monday 10/14 was an odd day.
It started off by hearing about the tragic vehicle accident in Mystic. Realized how many connections we had to the kids in the car. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone involved, family, friends and the community at large.
Additionally, it would have been my mom Laraine’s 73 birthday.
And finally, the wind was howling. We never left the boat. We saw winds sustained 15-20 mph with higher gusts. We never felt safe enough to leave the boat on the anchor in the tight little anchorage. We hunkered down and chilled out. I have finished 2 books since we left and Gerry was able to get a few boat projects completed.
This morning, it was really cold, we made cups of coffee, picked up the anchor and headed to the Solomon Islands.
We are at a dock, plugged in! Already took hot and long showers and the heat in the boat is on!

Safe and warm travels
