We are off!

We left Noank CT on Wed morning 10/2 at 7 am. Thanks to Dave Ryan for dropping us off.

The plan was to stop at City Island NY (to see Ava Belli) but as we approached with the current and wind pushing us down the sound, the group consensus was to keep going through the Hudson River and Hells Gate. The wind was behind us and the current was with us the entire trip down Long Island Sound. We were climbing up the swells and surfing down the back sides!

The new plan was for Sandy Hood NJ.

Up this morning and off the dock by 8 am heading to Atlantic City. We had 4-6 foot swells but with no wind, it was pretty comfortable.

We are now in Atlantic City docked in front of the Golden Nugget Casino drafting this post.

The plan for tomorrow is Cape May NJ!

Our short-term goal is to be in Annapolis for the sailboat show from 10/10 to 10/14, a good excuse to hang out in Annapolis MD. From there we will keep heading south!

Day 1 122 miles in 8 hours

Day 2 87 miles in 6 hours

Once we get into the Chesapeake, we will slow down and enjoy this journey at a slower pace.
